You should look at the main conventions. I wouldn't worry too much on minor things like barcodes. Definitely examine Mastheads and subtitles. I think your colour scheme use of flowers definitely challenges the conventions of your typical indie mag. Maybe one or two picture examples would help to show examiner what your are talking about and also show off ICT skills
